What are collaborators on Wix and how do they work?
Collaborators on Wix are individuals you invite to help manage, edit, or contribute to your website. This feature allows you to securely share access with team members, designers, developers, content writers, or marketers without giving them full control of your account.
How to Add Collaborators
To invite collaborators to your Wix site, navigate to your Site Dashboard, then go to Settings > Roles & Permissions. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite and assign them a role. The invited person will receive an email invitation and typically has a few days to accept it. Once they accept, they can log in and access your site based on the permissions you've granted.
Understanding Permission Levels
Wix offers several predefined roles with varying levels of access:
Admin (Co-Owner) - This role grants comprehensive access to view and manage all site applications, including bookings, store, and blog features. Admins can edit site content, modify settings, and manage other collaborators. However, they cannot access your banking or payment details.
Editor - Editors can modify site content such as text, images, and pages, but they cannot change site settings or manage other collaborators. This role is ideal for content creators who need to update website information regularly.
Custom Roles - You can create tailored roles by selecting specific permissions for each collaborator. For example, you might grant someone access only to the blog section or store management. This granular control allows you to provide exactly the level of access needed for specific tasks.
Security and Control
An important security feature is that collaborators never have access to your Wix account billing or payment information. You maintain full control and can modify or revoke permissions at any time. If your collaboration needs change, you can easily adjust roles or remove collaborators from your site.
This collaborative approach enables efficient teamwork while maintaining the security of your sensitive account information. Learn more about managing your site at Wix Support.
