How to Delete a Wix Account

Deleting your Wix account is a straightforward process, but it requires completing several prerequisite steps before you can permanently close the account.

Prerequisites Before Deletion

Before you can delete your Wix account, you must complete the following requirements:

Cancel All Premium Subscriptions and Plans

You need to cancel every active service connected to your account. This includes domain subscriptions, site plans, email mailboxes, and any connected apps. To do this, go to "Premium Subscriptions" in your Wix account, click the three-dot icon next to each subscription, and select "Cancel Domain/Plan/Mailbox/App."

Remove All Connected Domains

Navigate to the "Domains" section in your account, click the three-dot icon next to each domain, and choose "Remove from Wix."

Move All Websites to Trash

Delete every website associated with your account. Go to your dashboard, select a website, click on "Site Actions," and choose "Move to Trash." Repeat this process for all websites in your account.

Disconnect Any Additional Services

Disconnect any third-party services connected to your account to prevent lingering data or unexpected charges after deletion.

Steps to Close Your Account

Once you've completed all prerequisites, follow these final steps:

  1. Log in to your Wix account and click on your profile icon in the top right corner
  2. Select "Account Settings" from the dropdown menu
  3. Scroll down to the "Account" section and select "Close My Account"
  4. A confirmation dialog will appear explaining that this action is permanent and irreversible
  5. Click "Terminate My Account" to confirm
  6. A pop-up will ask for your reason for leaving—provide this information and any additional comments, then click "Submit"
  7. You'll receive a confirmation email shortly after

Important Note

This action is permanent and irreversible. All your website data, content, and account information will be permanently erased and cannot be recovered or reactivated. If you only want to cancel your subscription without deleting your account entirely, you can do so from the "Billing & Payments" tab instead.
