How do I change my URL on Wix?

Changing your URL on Wix depends on whether you want to modify a specific page URL or your entire website domain.

Changing a Page URL

To change the URL of an individual page on your Wix site:

1. Log in to your Wix account and open the Wix Editor
2. Click on Pages and Menu on the left side panel
3. Hover over the page you want to modify and click the More Actions icon
4. Select SEO Basics from the dropdown menu
5. In the URL Slug field, enter your desired page URL (this is the part that appears after your domain name)
6. Press Enter to save your changes

Wix automatically creates a 301 redirect from the old URL to the new one, which helps maintain your SEO rankings. Keep in mind that you should avoid using reserved URL paths like apps, api, robots.txt, or sitemap.xml.

Changing Your Website Domain

If you're using a free Wix plan, your site will have a default URL structure like username.wixsite.com/sitename. While you can modify the account name and site name in your dashboard, you'll need to upgrade to a Premium plan for a fully custom domain.

To get a custom domain:

1. Open your Account Settings by clicking the icon in the top right corner
2. Navigate to the Domains section
3. Choose to either Buy a new domain name through Wix or Connect a domain you already own
4. Follow the prompts to complete the setup
