How do I add Google Analytics to my Wix website to track visitor traffic?

Connecting Google Analytics to your Wix site lets you measure traffic, understand where visitors come from, and see which pages perform best. Wix supports Google Analytics 4 (GA4) natively, so you do not need to edit any code.

Before You Start

You will need two things:

  • A Wix Premium plan with a connected domain (marketing integrations are not available on free sites).
  • A Google Analytics 4 property, which gives you a Measurement ID that looks like G-XXXXXXXXXX.

Steps to Connect

  1. Sign in to your Google Analytics account and create a GA4 property for your website, then copy its Measurement ID.
  2. In your Wix dashboard, go to Marketing & SEO, then open Marketing Integrations.
  3. Find the Google Analytics card and click Connect.
  4. Paste your Measurement ID and save.

Once connected, Wix automatically sends page views and standard events to your GA4 property.

Verify It Is Working

Open the Realtime report in Google Analytics and visit your live site in another tab. Within a minute or two you should see your own session appear. Data can take up to 24 hours to fully populate in standard reports.

Tips

  • Make sure your site is published so the tracking tag loads on the live version.
  • If you also use a cookie consent banner, confirm analytics is allowed so tracking fires for consenting visitors.
  • For built-in reporting without leaving Wix, you can also review traffic in your Wix Analytics dashboard.
