How do I connect PayPal to the Wix Payments platform on my site?
You can offer PayPal alongside the Wix Payments platform so customers have an extra, familiar way to check out on your Wix site.
How the Two Work Together
Wix Payments is Wix's built-in processor that handles credit and debit cards directly. PayPal is a separate provider you can connect in addition to it, giving buyers the choice to pay with their PayPal balance or linked accounts.
Connecting PayPal
To add PayPal as a payment method:
- Go to your site's dashboard.
- Open Settings and select Accept Payments.
- Choose PayPal from the list of available methods.
- Enter the email address linked to your PayPal Business account and follow the prompts to connect.
Using a PayPal Business account is recommended so you can accept payments without the sender needing their own PayPal login.
Offering Both at Checkout
When both are enabled, shoppers see the option to pay by card through Wix Payments or to continue with PayPal. This flexibility can reduce abandoned carts.
Things to Keep in Mind
- Each provider has its own transaction fees and payout timing.
- Refunds for PayPal orders are managed through the PayPal side of the transaction.
- Availability of specific methods can vary by country and currency.
